Excellent results, good story, well told. Glad you and the dog made it home intact. Good eatin' on a jackrabbit.

Thanks Jim. I'm glad too. Wolves in the daytime was not on my bingo card.

There were no wolves in Oregon in the 1990s. In the mid-1990s wolves were reintroduced into Yellowstone nationalist socialist park and into central Idaho because mass murdering cannibalistic green-on-the-outside watermelon commies hate mankind and want us all to be eaten by wolves. It has taken about thirty years, but the wolves have grown in population and expanded in range. I would “blame the government” but since it hasn’t ever had the consent of the governed, it isn’t government, merely tyranny.

Sounds about right. Neighbors told me there was another release of wolves into the national forest near here, a bit over a year ago. I noticed the deer not coming through this area as much since they told me that, which is great for plants around here being able to recover. This area was thick with deer when I moved here.

Ah. As if it wasn’t bad enough the people who hate us released even more predators. Lotta good eatin’ on a deer

And they are environmentally destructive if their numbers get too big. I saw a documentary where there was a river that had gotten into pretty bad shape due to deer eating too much vegetation and a year or so after they added wolves to the area the river recovered.

On a seperate note, I would rather have a few wolves roaming the land at night than the thieving drug addicted pilferers that were VERY prevalent around here when I first moved here. Night time is the pilferers' preferred time to steal.

Well, there is this other great American tradition of having rifles to keep the deer under control, eating the deer, and making the pilferers wary of well armed Americans. Everyone has choices to take.

Wow!!! Never to old to learn lessons! That would have scared me to death! How far from home were u?

Rough estimate maybe half a mile. The strange part was, Buddy didn't even notice until we got back on the road and my heart rate didn't raise at all.

Serendipity is a wonderful thing. I don’t mean libity bibity.

When Buddy tugs on the leash do you even have a choice?

Yes, but it's usually a game of tug-of-war.
