AKA Word-Nerd Weekly #9

Kindness

PrePost warning- this post is even more random and “distracted cat” than my previous installments. Proceed with caution (and a dictionary [and maybe a strong drink <and perhaps a clear tarp to keep the flying debris off *and for goodness sake, bundle up ‘fore you catch yer death o'cold*>]).

Oh good, you have arrived just in time for another rousing excursion through the dictionary. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz… Our goal is simple, find a word, ???, profit! Wait, no, its to discuss disused and underused words in a humorous light.

Hogwash!

The penultimate, substantive catalyst circumambulates pretenses, which, unfettered by reason, logic, or the readers' beleaguered and waning patience, is abandoned allegorically, then taken up again and again. Akin to Ouroboros or that Lewis person, inebriated on Shari, masticating Chopped Lamb, it goes on and on my friend. Ultimately, all is but subterfuge, predicated on cajoling thine acquiescence to prolong this multi-syllabic tirade of megalithic proportion.

(Mark Twain said never use a five dollar word when a fifty cent word will do. This was the opposite.)

At five dollars fifty cents per 3 syllable word, that'll be 100 10 dollars please (just look at the savings). For only 5 dollars more I'll throw in an inflated sense of self importance and a “slightly" bruised ego.

Yes, that right arm is incorrectly oriented. And yes this is great advertising for Dave Chappelle’s security team.

Some may ask, “how does glorifying the beating of some anti-hero demonstrate or even align with kindness?” Some may ask, “do you ever get straight to the point?”

To the second question…

Addressing the first, Justice is the link to kindness. It was Just that that person was stopped before they could harm a person that brings laughter to more people than most people will interact with in a lifetime. The kindness part is that they only borked that arm and face, when Chapelle was within every one of his rights to defend himself up to and including deadly force. The perpetrator had a knife with a handle shaped like a gun. How ridiculous is that?

Kindness is the key. It opens doors that would slam in one's face using other strategies (mixed-metaphorically speaking).

Kindness is from the root word kind. (Duh Antila)

The way I see it, kindness is, at its core, is a state of being where you treat others as you would treat yourself, assuming you actually love and respect yourself. (If you don’t, good news! You found a good place to start fixing your relationship with you.)

To FINALLY get to the point, I chose kindness so I could wrap my mind around it a bit better, like a python and it’s meal. My Substack is called KTAWK, an acronym for Kill Them All With Kindness. This metaphor/analogy originates in observing primate mothers squeezing their young to death by hugging too tightly. It also has modern usage as a strategy of converting enemies/opponents to friends/allies, therebye “killing" your enemy by making them your friend. (Brings new insight to the saying “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”)

I have yet to decide which method is better, even if logic tells me #2 is better Karma-wise. But come on, who wouldn't love the opportunity to wrap your arms around some like Fauci or Mao or Stalin and just keep squeezing, for JUSTICE. (Before I get an earful, I know “vengeance is mine sayeth The Lord", I'm still learning patience. )

I'm to be able to do this, kindness must be more than comprehended. It must be grok-ed.
